What do LG refrigerator error codes Er FF and Er dH mean?
On LG refrigerators covered by the LFX25974ST service manual, Er FF means the freezer fan motor sent no feedback signal for over 65 seconds while running. Er dH means poor defrosting: an hour after defrost started, the defrost sensor had not passed 46°F (8°C). Both need a technician to diagnose fan, heater and board parts.
What the code means
LG's LFX25974ST service manual lists Er FF as an abnormality of the freezer BLDC fan motor: the feedback signal isn't received for over 65 seconds during fan operation, and while the error is displayed the fan is not working. Listed causes are a poor BLDC motor connection, drive IC or TR. Er dH (poor defrosting) occurs when the defrost sensor is not over 46°F (8°C) an hour after defrosting starts. Listed causes are temperature fuse disconnection, heater disconnection, drain jam, or a poor heater relay.
