How do I fix Bosch dishwasher error E24 or E25?
On Bosch dishwashers, E24 means the dishwasher is not draining properly because the drain filter is blocked. E25 means the drain pump is blocked or the pump cover is loose or missing. Bosch recommends checking hoses for kinks, making sure the pump cover is secure, and removing the garbage disposal knock-out plug if connected.
What the code means
Bosch's dishwasher error code page says E24 means the dishwasher is not draining properly due to the drain filter being blocked, and E25 means the drain pump is blocked or the drain pump cover is loose or missing. Bosch's checks include the hose, the pump cover under the filter, and the disposer connection plug.
Safe homeowner checks
- Turn the dishwasher off before reaching inside.
- Check the hose for kinks or damage.
- Remove the filter and make sure the pump cover beneath it is not loose.
- For E25, Bosch says you can pry off the pump cover with a spoon, then remove debris and standing water with a sponge. Use caution, as some debris may be sharp.
- If the drain hose connects to a garbage disposal, make sure the knock-out plug has been removed from the disposer's dishwasher connection.
When to call a technician
Call a technician if the error returns after these checks or water still won't drain. Drain pump and electrical repairs should be done by a technician.
