What do Wolf range RTD error codes 2421, 3121 and 3221 mean?
On Wolf 30" and 36" dual fuel ranges, codes 2421/2422, 3121/3122 and 3221/3222 are oven temperature sensor (RTD) faults. 24xx is an RTD circuit fault on the relay board, 31xx means the RTD is shorted, and 32xx means it is open. Codes ending in 1 are the single or right oven. A technician must diagnose it.
What the code means
Wolf's ICB dual fuel range service manual lists 2421/2422 as "RTD Circuit Fault" (the RTD circuit on the relay board is malfunctioning), 3121/3122 as "RTD Shorted" and 3221/3222 as "RTD Open" (the RTD is broken or wired wrong). Codes ending in 1 are the single or right oven, and codes ending in 2 are the left oven. Wolf's service instructions are to check the RTD circuit, replace the RTD if faulty, and otherwise replace the relay board.
Safe homeowner checks
- Turn the oven off.
- Write down the exact four-digit code and which oven it applies to.
- Do not open panels, test wiring, or replace parts yourself.
When to call a technician
Call a technician. RTD, relay board and line-voltage work on a dual fuel range is technician-only.
