What do Wolf range bake and broil element drive error codes mean?
On Wolf 30" and 36" dual fuel ranges, codes 0021/0022 and 0321/0322 mean the bake or broil element drive is shorted. Codes 1021/1022 and 1321/1322 mean the bake or broil element drive is open, so that element may not heat. The fault is in the relay board, and Wolf's instruction is to replace it. That is technician work.
What the code means
Wolf's ICB dual fuel range service manual lists 0021/0022 "Bake Element Drive Shorted" and 0321/0322 "Broil Element Drive Shorted" (the drive relay or triac for an element is closed when it should be open), and 1021/1022 "Bake Element Drive Open" and 1321/1322 "Broil Element Drive Open" (the drive relay is open when it should be closed). Codes ending in 1 are the single or right oven, and codes ending in 2 are the left oven. The service instruction for each is to replace the relay board.
Safe homeowner checks
- Turn the oven off.
- Write down the exact code and which oven it applies to.
- Do not open panels, test wiring, or replace parts yourself.
When to call a technician
Call a technician. Relay board replacement and line-voltage work on a dual fuel range is technician-only.
