Can toilet drain pipes freeze?
Although it's not very common, your toilet drain pipes can freeze. If this happens, water will go back into the toilet bowl and overflow every time you flush. So to avoid making a mess, try pouring hot water down the toilet drain first. If that doesn't help, turn off the valve for the toilet water and contact your local plumber for assistance.
