HOW OFTEN SHOULD I HAVE MY AIR CONDITIONING UNIT SERVICED?
We recommend homeowners sign up for two checkups every year—one in the spring ahead of the hot summer months and one in the fall before winter sets in.
WHY DOES MY ELECTRICAL OUTLET OR LIGHT SWITCH FEEL HOT TO THE TOUCH?
Heated outlets and light switches aren’t normal and could signify serious trouble. If you’re experiencing this problem, we recommend calling Home Alliance for an immediate inspection. Power overloads, loose wires, weak connections—all these can cause heat buildup and all can potentially lead to serious issues, including fire, if not quickly addressed.
What is the proper indoor humidity level?
The ideal indoor range for relative humidity is roughly 35%; however, many homeowners find that 30% to 40% works best. If you go over this point, condensation on the windows may happen, which can breed mold and cause allergic reactions and respiratory issues.
What Should I Do If I Notice That My Appliance Is Not Working?
First, stop using the machine. Whether it’s a noise, a damaged part, an electrical problem, or a problem with your water or gas line, you should turn the machine off and cease using it. Continuing use can make the problem worse. Second, contact a Home Alliance technician right away. The sooner you call us, the faster we can respond to your problem.
Can I recycle LED bulbs at Lowes?
You can recycle plastic plant pots, bags, CFL bulbs, and rechargeable batteries at Lowe's. They will properly dispose of the bulbs if you collect them and drop them off at the store.
What size wire do I need for a 40 gallon electric water heater?
If you want your water heater to run efficiently, we recommend wiring it with a larger wire size than the current requirement. A 20-amp water heater requires a 12-gauge wire, a 25-amp water heater requires a 10-gauge wire, and a 30-amp or 40-amp water heater requires an 8-gauge wire.
