What are low-voltage fixtures?
Low-voltage fixtures are lighting fixtures that operate on a lower voltage than standard line voltage. They typically use a transformer to convert the standard line voltage of 120 volts to 12 or 24 volts. Low-voltage fixtures are often used for outdoor and landscape lighting, as well as accent lighting. They are energy-efficient, offer flexibility in terms of placement and design, and are generally safer to install and use than line voltage fixtures. However, low-voltage fixtures may require more maintenance and are often more expensive to purchase than standard line voltage fixtures.
